It just had to happen, I remember my Dad building some quite magnificent castles when I was young and walls across the beach to stop the tide! So last year we had a boat (and again this year on request) but we also had my first real stab at something more interesting than an upturned bucket. Maddie helped and seemed to like it but I think secretly I was doing it as much for myself. Managed to get sunburnt in the process so another valuable lesson I was able to demonstrate.
